Need to Know Basis

She dreamt of many dreams  And lived a fairy tale life, Where she could be a happy girl, A happy daughter, a wife. She found the knight she dreamt of  Who promised her of many things, He said he will give her love n life  And help her dreams grow wings. She saw her shining knight in him And held his hand to move ahead  She left her peaceful childhood back  Which lay alone, now half – dead. She walked on, hand in hand  Till she found herself alone The knight she had believed in  Was once there, is now gone. You can still see her if you look out ,  Walking ahead, on and on  Looking for her childhood dreams, Was once there, is now gone.

An aching soul roams the street, Dumb, numb, unaware Of the reason of the pain And how to get rid of it. A hand that is kind To it, is merely a shadow, And a worried heart Doesn't seem to reach its mind. Its naive, trusting, hopeful eyes Does not know where to look, It neither notices the darkness Nor the freshness of the sunrise. The aching soul still roams the street Looking for solace somewhere, Looking for the God it had heard of Day after day, street after street.

The barriers broke And silence spoke And the world went around. Dreams went up in smoke In a single stroke And the world came around. The hopes came crumbling The homes came tumbling And the world came around and went around. The sun rose above Over the grey – winged dove And the world went around and came around.

The green mists enveloping The lanes that move  ahead. the dusky, musky smell Of the leaves that are dead. Everything covered, blurred, By the thoughts, unheard. The shadows, grey, rising, To the sky that was blue once. The smoky, foggy touch Of the breeze doing a dance. Everything darkened, dampened, By the sound, once a friend. The sights, though dear, is now unclear Till the mists and the shadows disappear.

That side seemed so far away How far – they could not say Was it greener over there? It seemed so barren everywhere! There were no people, no trees, no life No sign of there being any kind of strife, Then why did it seem so very dark? Like there’s no light, like there’s no spark? The other side looked the same as this, There was no difference, nothing to miss, Then why did it feel so lonely here? Like everyone’s gone over there? The side that is seen over there How far – no one seems to care They wish it was dark, they wish it was bare, The darker it was, the better they were.

I looked at Him Day after day after day, Wondered if something Gave it away. I hoped He would notice Even if He did not know, Maybe He too looked at me, Maybe it will show. I pondered if this was how Things were meant to be, I wondered if there were things That I could not see. Then one day it just got over As everything moved away. I wished it was not like this, I wished that it could stay. I hope that some day long after, As I walk down the lane, I will get to look at Him And find Him once again.

Darkness and gloom, Despair and doom Makes you scared day by day, Blocks your street Brings defeat And all you want is to run away. Run away to the meadows Far away from the shadows Run where no one knows you Run to where the birds and bees, Rivers, mountains, animals, trees Croons, caresses, surrounds you. Whoever you are, whatever you do Fear is always around you. Both in dimness and in light. But its inane to pine and mope Because with fear, there is hope Visible, yet out of sight. Even though the fear is gripping, Chasing, binding, choking, suffocating And there is no escape that you can see The walls of despair Can never be too near So you can always be strong and just break free.

  There was once a much loved princess Who was born far, far away Who was cursed to be lonely And in a tower she had to stay.   She was promised a brave knight For whom she laid in wait While a dragon kept an eye On what it saw as a bait.   The knights that came were very brave But none of them could reach their goal To the topmost tower where she was kept The dragon came between them all.   She gave up on her one dream To ride away with a handsome knight To escape from her loneliness To live in peace, to love with might.   She would hope, in mad despair, That someone would come someday To tell her that her dream exists And to take her away.   She wanted to believe in love She hoped that it was there for her, But she could not dare hope for much She could not even see a star.   She could only see the dragon green, Which roamed around, here and there Which stayed on guard all the while An...
